Projects can be tailored to fit the needs of the social organization or community in need. Reaching isolated individuals, building trust, rediscovering joy, and helping people move through change by providing an expressive outlet, are values which The Moving Company advocate. The Moving Company’s community projects are an integral part of its artistic evolution.

If any of these projects touch you, please do not hesitate to contact the company and see how you can be involved.

Past participants (men and women) of The Moving Company movement classes say:

From adult “Movement Research”, Miami Florida

“Hope Terry makes dancing a full life experience that includes all senses, emotions, thought, and non-thought. Her unique, open way of teaching makes it easy for me to notice certain frozen patterns of relationship to myself and others. I discover my inner curiosity to experiment with completely new ways of being. Classes leave me feeling refreshed and new.”
- Participant, Eugene, Oregon

“At first, I was very nervous, but she had us move with the music at our own pace and experience. She never pressured us to perform in any way. She allowed us to experiment, to flow, to be one with the music, and then to play with being with the others. My nervousness went away, I became engulfed in the experience. It energised me, it filled me with a sense of pleasure and accomplishment. Best of all, I never felt judged by her, and so, I never felt the need to judge myself. Instead, I felt encouraged to expand my boundaries of movement.
So, thank you.”
- Participant, Leavenworth, Washington.

“Attending and moving to Hope’s dance suggestions was very liberating. She gave me new ways to experience the potential of my whole body-spirit even outside of the class.”
- Participant, Massachusetts

“Hope's classes have helped me to discover how I lock myself into the same unhealthy patterns. Through movement, I was able to experience of more personal freedom and love of myself.”
- Participant, Rye NY

“Hope helped us stretch our boundaries by encouraging us to explore new types of movement and dance that was very accessible to everyone in the group. It was a lot of fun and I felt empowered and expanded by the experience. I'm looking forward to next time!”
- Participant, Taos, New Mexico

“Hope's movement class was a beautiful experience for me. As one who always wanted to dance, but was afraid, these movements were liberating to my closed down body. Just to let go and move to music was exciting and became an entry to life!”
